Welcome Spring!!
Spring has finally appeared on the calendar, just not necessarily in your neck of the woods friends. Here in sunny Florida we’re enjoying a beautiful start to the season and art shows and exhibits are in full swing. My show at the Highlands Museum of the Arts in Sebring, FL is winding down to a close on March 29. I don’t have another show planned till November this year which leaves lots of time to create new work.
I’ve been painting away on smaller works the past couple months using an oil and cold wax method and really loving the results. These paintings are created by applying many layers oil paint mixed with a cold wax medium (made with bees wax) and then removing some of the layers to reveal the underlying paint layers. It’s kind of like excavating a painting to find its history.
Here are just a few of the new paintings created with this method.
There is a certain luminosity with the oil paints that I don’t find with acrylics. Acrylics are still my go to for painting, but it’s great to have a second set of tools in my tool box.
If you’d like more information on these paintings, or any of my others, I invite you to visit my website. And, don’t forget I offer complimentary US shipping and convenient payment plans can be set up anytime. I love to make it easy for my art to find their forever homes.
Thank you for your continued support friends. If you know of someone who might enjoy my artwork, I would be honored if you shared this blog with them. And, if your friend makes a purchase from your referral, there will be a little something in it for you!!
