My Favorite Season Will Soon Be Here

Fall is my absolute favorite season of the year, even though I live in a state that doesn't actually experience a true fall season.  I grew up in Southern Maryland and still remember the crisp autumn weather, beautiful foliage, bonfires and hayrides.  After 40 years in FL you'd think I would not get homesick to see the leaves change, but I still do.  So what does a Floridian do when she's missing the change of season?  She paints it.

I may not be able to see the leaves changing, but I can see them in my mind and paint them. Bluebird in Autumn was such fun to paint. This lovely bird brings nature to life in this semi-abstract painting.

Here is another new painting, Hollyhocks and Blue Sky inspired by the heavenly hollyhocks seen reaching for the sky in gardens along Canyon Road in Santa Fe.  They are one of my favorite old time flowers; and, one we cannot grow in FL due to the heat and humidity.  All the more reason I love to paint them.

These new paintings are available in prints, canvas prints, tote bags, pillows, shower curtains and more through my Fine Art America shop. They make a lovely addition to your home for the fall season.

Starting in October I'm going to start a monthly contest where I'll offer one original painting you can bid on.  More details to follow in the next newsletter.  I'm very excited to offer this opportunity to my fans as a way to start an art collection, or add to an existing one.

My new 2016 art calendar is available through Zazzle.  The convenient aspect about Zazzle is that they have customization tools for customers, so you can adapt the year, time schedule, holidays, and sizes to your preferences.  The calendars are available in three sizes.

The world puts on its robes of glory now; the very flowers are tinged with deeper dyes; the waves are bluer, and the angels pitch their shining tents along the sunset skies.

Where Has Summer Gone?

With just over a couple weeks left until the "unofficial" end of summer, the stores are already parading fall decorations and children are headed back to school.  How did summer go by so fast?  Living in Florida, it's pretty much summer most of the year.  If you'd like to experience that feeling in your home, you might enjoy this triptych entitled "Sun, Sand and Sea glass".   Perfect for that year round beach feeling.

Another way to preserve summer is with another triptych just finished this week, "Daisies" designed with three 5" x 7" panels, with the petals continuing on the sides.

I'm a nut for beautiful calendars to help keep track of the days.  I've created one for 2016 featuring my art work.  Available in three sizes it also makes a lovely gift.  It's available through my Zazzle shop.  Simply click the photo below to visit my shop for more information on this calendar and my other Zazzle products.

And finally, just had to show you some of my newest pillow designs.  They are my most popular product with my collectors.

It's been another busy week preparing for upcoming shows, creating new art and ordering product for fall and holiday markets.  I'm blessed to have so many wonderful fans and I thank you all for your support.  I'll be posting an event schedule soon, so if you're in the area I'd love for you to stop by one of the shows and say hello.

Have a wonderful weekend to come.  Have fun and be safe.

 Blessings,  Mary
